Key Achievement

1) Bhai Ghanhya Sehat Sewa Sheme is a self-contributory social health insurance scheme running successfully since 2006 that provides cashless health insurance of Rs. 2.00 lakh per family per year in empanelled hospitals in Punjab & Chandigarh and reimbursement basis health cover in government hospitals of Punjab, Chandigarh and Delhi. In the current year 2019-20, total 1328 beneficiaries have enrolled for the scheme.

2) Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a Central Sector scheme with 100% funding from Government of India. Under the Scheme an income support of Rs.6000/- per year is provided to all farmer families across the country in three equal instalments of Rs.2000/- each every four months.

3) CRC is a Punjab govt initiative under which Rs. 2500/- per acre is provided to farmers (below land holding of 5 acres) cultivating paddy who have not burnt their crop residue (instead disposed it off using mechanized implements). Launched in the current year, scrutinizing of eligible beneficiaries is under process.

4) The scheme envisages to strengthen women especially in rural areas in single/ individual capacity or clusters or groups. Under this scheme, Cooperative bank provides Rs. 2.00 lakh limit for PACS for these women entrepreneurs. Till current year, total 898 women have been enrolled in PACS, 90.40 lakh rupees have been disbursed through cooperative banks.

Key functions of the department

1) Cooperation Department acts as facilitator in helping its members to access affordable health services. Apart from awareness drives, department also ensures hassle free participation of eligible members.

4) Cooperative Inspector Incharge of the society along with the secretary of the society and official of the lady wing (if any) will identify and activate a group of women. Funds for these activities will be provided by the Primary Agriculture Cooperative Society. Central Cooperative Banks will keep separate funds for these women members.
